I met Tom at a wedding about 7 years ago, when his brother married my sister. Then roughly 5 years later, I met his then girlfriend, Sierra, when I moved to Denver in 2015. A super cool and sweet couple, Tom is a very talented bass player in the [awesome!] band, Chimney Choir and may pick you up downtown in his blue sparkly pedicab if you need a lift to the next bar, and Sierra runs a doula practice with her best friend, Skylar (whose wedding I also photographed). Tom & Sierra will be headed to Yale very soon for Sierra to study to become a midwife. Denver/Boulder will miss them terribly, but I am glad to be somewhat nearer since I moved back to Pittsburgh just a week after photographing their wedding.
Their intimate wedding was at Sierra's parents' home, just outside of Boulder, a funky-cool house at the foot of a large hill. The ceremony was held on the back deck, and Chimney Choir played a set in the garage later in the evening. The chuppah has been in Sierra's family for decades — the beautiful lace cloth has seen five weddings! Family and friends came together for a truly unique yet classic wedding ceremony that I am so honored to have photographed for them.
